  1. PostPosted: Thu Nov 21, 2013 7:55 am Post subject: Reply with quote Report post -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We have the Following grades: White Yellow Orange Green Blue Purple Brown Brown Brown Black /each rank has a half rank denoted by a white stripe in the center of the belt. This was added because so many youngsters would quit because they were a certain belt for too long. Purely for the sake of keeping the dojo opened.
  2. remember that was the 80's. Privates go a long way, but probably not that long.
  3. Do you claim them if you are given/awarded rank by someone other than your instructor? Is it disrespectful to wear said rank at other dojos?
  4. Karate should not be in the games. Too many orgs represent karate and it is not a sport. as I see it.
  5. I was awarded shodan this week, but I must say it was rather anticlimactic. When I started training I dreamed this would be the best day of my life; however the closer I got , the more I realized that it is no big deal. Now I train for the sake of training. Rank does not mean what I thought it would. Any thoughts on what is was like when you received your black belt?
  6. Back belt 1st degree
