  1. thats very interesting GreenDragon now that i know what Soo Bahk Do is i can give my advise so thanx. i was going to say kempo but Soo Bahk Do sounds pretty cool. i say(and a lot of MA would say) try a class of each. and if i were u i wouldn't listen to TheSod_88 i have yet to hear anything positive come from him.
  2. well theres a lot of weapons out there to learn i think its best to get really good at your style then learn a weapon. i would think the staf is the best bet for your first weapon.
  3. welcome to the forums. what kind of karate do you do
  4. welcome to the forums
  5. well in my class we had a guy that was like 400 and he lost a lot of weight
  6. welcome
  7. i still like my chop sticks
  8. i agree my sifu dosent really like haveing the belt stuff he has them mostly for the kids in the school.
  9. u watch your mouth i can show u how horrible the other martial arts are with u on the ground and my foot on your face. u need to keep your bad comments to your self. now black rose what i ment by hard and soft is that most shaolin is soft b/c it flows its easier to understand it if u saw it u will see most karate or tkd goes in a strait line while most kung fu will go in a circle. im sorry its not a good description but it is kinda hard to explain. i agree with kungfu try a class of each.
  10. im a kung fu kinda guy so i say shaolin but i was wondering if it said what type of shaolin it is. also what counts is if you like hard or soft in general(this doesn't speak for all but most) tae kwon do, Karate, (Kempo, aikido, judo, jujutsu)<--not sure about those) are hard styles. Shaolin is a form of kung fu as is tai chi witch are soft syles. (taiji, kenji)<--never heard of them. the good thing about tai chi is u can take another style while doing it and not get messed up. well if u have any questions jest post them and i(or im sure someone else) will try to answer them
  11. i posted this topic a while back jest wanted to know if any of the new people ahve seen it.

  14. in my school most of the ppl that do quit will after only a few months. but we dont have alot of ppl that quit. and if they did it would be stupid because in my school we dont start the good stuff until after bb
  15. well i think most styles would have efective hand strikes and a lot of the same strikes are in different styles. i dont really think there a "best" or "better".
