Hi guys, don't be put off by my name, I don't bite really. I'm actually looking to learn Kyokushin karate but have no idea where there's a good dojo. I'm currently situated in West London, but I'd be willing to travel for a good school. I've always had an interest in karate but have never actually looked further in to it, till now. I currently study a blend of styles under my teacher, which include Muay Thai, boxing, Kali amongst others (it sounds a lot, but my teacher's really good at passing on his wisdom). The only thing that I find lacking in my current school is the "art" side to 'Martial Arts' training. The self defence applications are excellent, and I'll probably stay here even if I find a suitable kyokushin dojo, I just feel as though the martial arts should focus on more than simply street defence. I feel as though Kyokushin will be able to combine both practical application and the more spiritual side of martial arts. I may be wrong, but no harm in trying. I have no idea if what I've just written makes any sense (although I hope it does). It's nice to be a part of this forum, and I look forward to hearing some feedback.
