  1. You were justified in your actions, who knows, maybe a throw may not have been effective and he could have hurt somebody, you were justified in your actions.
  2. There are not really that are very similar to Monkey style kung fu, maybe drunken boxing with the flipping and rolling around.
  3. Yeah I saw this video before, thats pretty amazing stuff
  4. Hello. This is a very weird problem, but it is a problem with my stances. The thing is that the problem isn't in my stance, it is actually when I am NOT in my stance. I (apparently) have practiced so much the my torso naturally shifts to the left (like in my stance) and I have to force my body to restraighten. Can someone help me please?
  5. no difference. Kung fu used to be a term used in China for someone who completed a great achievement and would be referred to as a kung fu man, gung fu or more traditionally wushu is what "kung fu" really is
  6. Shaolin Kung Fu and Aikido Shaolin Kung Fu covers all of the striking you will ever need, and with very good results Aikido is good if you need to face multiple opponents and the movements in Aikido and Kung Fu are very similar. Only downfall is the lack of grappling, but what can you do .
  7. I have personally studied a little bit of it with my friend from China, and I don't think the kicks are that powerful, besides looking spectacular, but the eagle claws themselves are extremely scary because you can literally tear one's skin off with one.
  8. Baguazhang- uses circles to confuse opponent on location and then take down opponent with a flurry of palm strikes Aikido- uses circular movements and leading to throw opponents or lock up their joints Muay Thai- standup devastating boxing famous for their elbow and knee strikes. I <3 elbows
  9. Throws are the most powerful attack, not that many people can take a throw as well as one can take a punch or kick.
  10. I know this is probably going to be a shocker but cheerleaders. I am not even kidding, their extremely high flexibility and endurance would actually prove very successful in a fight. Cheerleaders are usually also very strong in every aspect and have been injured before (it is the number one way to get injured in any sport) so I think cheerleaders have it.
  11. Maybe traditional jujitsu training would be a good concept for you to try. Aikido is also good, but I have never heard of weapons training within Aikido.
  12. Thats an interesting combination. TKD would be good for longer distances, and if the opponent closes in, you could use aikido. The only weakness you should worry about is no strikes at close range, so just remember that.
  13. Training in a pool is great for resistance training.
  14. I know, I want it!!!!!!
  15. Sometimes people just have a bad day, and you shouldnt stress over it, just think of it as another experience. In my opinion, the losers are the lucky ones, they get to learn the most, those who win at everything do not learn where their flaws are, and the only way they do find out is through a devastating loss.
  16. The difference is that BJJ is almost all groundwork and eliminated I think pretty much all of the throws for some reason. Japanese Jujitsu is a combination of some throws which are devastating, but more groundwork because this art goes back to the 9th century with the samurai so traditional jujitsu incorporates moves that would be devastating to those in armor, or in these days heavier set people.
  17. The response to that I saw in Muay Thai is grab your trapped leg for an extra boost and do a flying knee strike to the opponents head, and usually since they like their teeth they will let go of your leg to guard themselves.
  18. The boy was perfectly justified, he even could have killed the robber if he wanted to.
  19. I would think that would be legal because in New York if someone is in your house and they try to attack you, you do have the right to kill them.
  20. It is very weird how he does it and his super slapping could be a good DISTRACTION method, but that wouldnt cause any real damage.
  21. I would say no gi because in real life you would not have the luxury of an opponent's gi to grab on to so it would be better if you fought with no gi.
  22. Thanks for the review, but do you know what styles of wrestling is in the book
  23. What I would suggest is to know roughly 25 moves, but you don't have to use them all, you can use the moves you need to use in certain situations.
