White Belt (1/10)

  1. Ive had some days off to do whatever so i thought id do some more training. Yesterday- Practicing my front kick. I was told im dragging my foot up instead of making a straightforward linear action. I practiced kicking between a coat hanger to stop that. Front kick-10am-5pm with breaks. Made some progress and kinda have a good feeling for it however when used in sparring and kata its reverting back to the old way. Self training in the dojo- kicking the bag with the front kick. At the dojo front kick- 5:30pm-7pm Regular class- 7-8:30pm, was very demanding, did various strength training exercises constantly with no breaks, then in between doing various kata. Its incredibly difficult to keep your technique nice and crisp after you just were doing "gorillas" for a long time. Today: 9am-10am- Plyometrics 10am-11am-kata 12:30pm- 5pm- biking on some trails and along the highway. Just a couple days ago i went really far outside the city and got lost. I asked some natives and got home just as it was getting dark thankfully.
  2. eventually at some point or another theres probably a health limit for each body for gaining weight, right?
  3. I dont know the science of it, but hitting someone at the back of the head at the top of the neck, right below the skull would do serious damage. Wouldn't it? I just gave myself a sturdy tap there and felt the sensitivity, so a full force punch might do something. Im not saying its a one technique killer though.
  4. Thanks for the advice both. Ill just have to fight the addiction, for awhile i was hooked on running but got shin splints. If you know any type of fitness i can do everyday let me know, besides working on technique, which i do often.
  5. Thanks, im curious though...if you continue training even after the potential for explosive power exercise is done, what exactly are you training?
  6. My club has plyometrics incorporated into the training schedule, however i often feel like doing them everyday. How often should i do these drills? Also, should i be doing the drills in no particular order or should it all be planned out? I have a medicine ball that i will include into the training.
