  1. Thank you too Bushido.. I was doing that at first but I was talking to a friend he said the same thing. One thing I can't get down is the kick where you jump up with one leg lifted up and then extend your knee and kick.. I'm not sure what it's called.. Any tips on how to do it? That sounds like you are trying a jumping front kick. Bring up one knee, then switch and bring the other knee up, placing the other foot down. Keep practicing this by switching again and again, concentrating on getting the knee up and high. Once you feel good there, bring up one knee, and use the rising motion to gain momentum and bring you off the ground. Then switch the knees in mid-air, and kick. Thanks again Bushido.. I'm gonna try that.

  4. Thank you Sperki, that's excellent advice and I will definately be following it. And about the sore part, I'm already feeling it. First it was my abdominal area, now it's the back of my knees. My abdominal area isn't as sore anymore so I'm taking this as a good thing, but the back of my knees are extremely sore.. but I've already lost 4 pounds from just 3 classes. I'm blown away on how fast I lost a couple pounds already!

  6. I am new to Karate. I started Kenpo not to long ago. I'm a "big guy". I'm 15.. Two main reasons I started Kenpo are to learn how to fight just in case I get into a fight, and to lose weight. How much weight do you think I will lose and how long do you think it will take? When my Dad was my age he started a sport (not sure which one) and my Mom sais his weight melted off of him. Same thing with my cousin, same age. Is there any tips you can give me to help me lose it faster? Any tips on how to eat? Certain workouts? All info is appreciated, thanks guys!
