Yellow Belt (2/10)

  1. I recently joined the Marines and I'm in the DEP but I agree, most U.S. citizens don't see that being "fit" is much of an issue. Most of it is responsibility as isshinryu5toforever said, and most people who do try to get fit don't have the commitment to do it, they just keep putting it off. It's not an overly large issue, but it is an issue that I find rather embarrassing for our country.
  2. Well, I'm not informed at all on body weights, or really anything for that matter, but I would say it would help, when you tri\ain your body with weights, then actually do somthing, most of the time you're body "where you work it" is more stable and strong. Again, this coming from and inexperianced person lol hope I helped at all
  3. Same exact thing with me, I went from about 25 pushups to now doing about 50, although I don't exactly do pushups everday
  4. I would probably go for Jiu-Jitsu, but I would also like to try out a weapons martial art.
  5. I usually move to the inside, if it's a straight punch I step inside, block if I need to and counter attack. If it's a front kick I move to the outside and counter, but I mainly preferr inside.
  6. Thanks Patrick, and happy Thanksgiving to everybody else.
  7. Well were has the time gone, I joined over half a year ago. Thnk Patrick for making this forum, and happy half b-day KarateForums.
  8. I hope he makes a good recovery, he's a talented fighter, it would be sad to see his career ended like that.
  9. I saw the very beginning of it, then my friend had to leave, remeber guys, Rule 4.
  10. I'm shocked, kids that young... they should be promoted to like physical activity, but like that... that's insane, to enter MMA a person should at least be a teenager with the concept of when to use it, how to control yourself, and keep yourself from using it in an un-needed situation, I personally want to go into MMA, I'm 16, but still age 3? that's nuts, They may be avoiding video games and other bad things, but they are putting themselfs at to high a risk and there will often be at least 5 people who fight outside of the gym even though they're taught not to, it's just how kids are.
  11. With school and MA I can't do much, but with the time I have I like to make computer graphics, I also read quiet a bit, I like fantasy books such as Eragon, I used to draw too but now I don't. I also like to play the Nintendo Ds, I'm still young so I love my poket games, I even still pla pokemon, because it uses stratagy and calculations, plus other things, it's much more than a kids game if you think about it.
  12. First time I've ever seen this post lol but I think it's the person's choice, why would a specific religoin stop somebody or promote somebody to learn MA?
  13. Wow, I haven't had any of them nor heard of them, but it is true, there are few breakfast cereals that are good for you now, at least as I find.
  14. This is a hard thing to give help on, as Bushido Man said, the feet are so important it's funny actually, but you could try pull up, pushups with your bad foot resting on the other, stationary bike, try pedaling with the middle or heel or your bad foot, to work on balance you could to jump rope while only using your good foot, crunches shouldn't bother your foot, lay on your back and raise your feet 6 inches of the ground and hold for ab help, but that's all I can think of, if I think of more I'll try to post it. good luck
  15. Oh wow, this is a coincidence isn't it? I know Isshinryu Karate but I'm also going to to learn Judo, I only have 2 and a half years knowledge of karate but I still do my basics and what I can, But you should go for it, I don't know much of Korea but I know that Dimitris is right, they train hard. Good luck
