I remember once I was entering a tournament and because the referees were biased the tournament runners decided to let a green belt referee instead - he was worse than they were not to mention he was best friends with the tournament organiser.

Oh, interesting... Yeah I know, and because I was sooo young at the time I thought it was maybe because he was a higher grade than the rest of the other Senseis who wore white, but in actual fact he was the same grade as the the head instructor. Sounds crazy...... Also I went onto the martial arts supplies site and I have tried to place an order however, it doesn't look as if they post to the UK - Scotland, however, I have e-mailed them so here's hoping.

I also attend a club that wear white tops and bottoms, I just used that as an example. Some clubs in the UK wear mixed, some don't, I even read that a Karateka wore a full red suit. One of the Senseis that used to teach me wore a full red suit, his son wore a full black and the rest of the students and other Senseis wore full white.

First of all I am a "she", I am a black belt 2nd dan (been training for the past 16 years), and it is a present for someone who I thought may appreciate it as I think the stripes are somewhat different to the complete white Gi. Not to mention someone asked why and another replied why do we were a black belt when we are a black belt, etc. It is the same as why do karateka wear a white jacket and black trousers rather than the whole white or whole black suit. It is everyone's own preference. I thought the Adidas gi looked smart but many of you say you wouldn't wear it. Everyone has their own opinion, just like I wouldn't wear a Karate Gi if it had anything on the back of it. But thanks to the people that provided links for me to have a look at. Much appreciated.

In Scotland I am friendly with Gerry Fleming, Neil Wilson (former Scottish Champion), Robin Bryce. All competed for Great Britain in the European Championships and World Championships many years ago.

I was just wondering if there is an Adidas Karate suit which has the stripes down the sides available anywhere, if so where can I get one?
