  1. thanx for the welcome guys my main styles taekwondo, i'm part of wtf n study in dragon temple martial arts. we do alot of tkd stuff but also alot of mixtures, some kickboxing, some grappling, and various stuff. My tkd masters studied various styles in china, korea, thailand, japan. basically travelled the world when he was younger. I'm also part of an open style sparring club which is pretty new and basically the person that organizes it did alot of chinese styles in the past and some pro kickboxer, n we got a bjj/sambo guy, a shotokan guy, and we'll probably get alot of new faces soon.
  2. i have a friend i sometimes train with that's spent 1 year practicing sambo before getting into bjj.
  3. i always lean back on sidekicks above the waist. it helps generate power, distance, balance. and i could follow up pretty quick if i miss.
  4. parries/blocking: shadow boxing works for me. if u could get access to a wing chun fighting dummy that would also be awesome one legged squats are excellent for balance and leg strength/conditioning workouts. try to stretch ur leg out real far and bend down as far as u could and get up.
  5. so whats up, ne1 here from the vancouver area by any chance
  6. karate doesn't have an axe kick and cut kicks and some other kicks and focuses more on punches. tkd is about speed, while karate is more about power from my knowledge. also tkd tends to have more full contact sparring(I think). both wtf n itf are full contact nowadays while shotokan is non contact point sparring. sport wise
