Hey all,

I had posted this thread about sports cards a while back, but I wanted to open it up a bit beyond that and ask: What do you collect?

I have sort of honed in recently on Yankees game used jersey cards. They are widely available, are often cheap, and I think I want to make some display out of them. I also collect a lot of Ghostbusters stuff.

When I was a kid I was into sports cards. Baseball, football, hockey. I might still have some sitting around somewhere but I have not looked at any of them in at least 20 years.

I do a little collecting of different things. I have some autographs and a few pieces of game worm appeal. I used to collect guns but sold most of those off, it has been at nearly a decade since I bought a gun, I would guess. Books, I collected books for a while and still have a lot of those but some have been donated over the years. I don't collect much anymore, just memories I suppose.

I collect a number of things. Lately, I've been focusing on increasing my manga and ttrpg collections.

Watches!

I have a small collection of eight watches. Most were gifts. Nothing really expensive, and nothing over $300, but decent for the price.

I have a Citizen Promaster dive watch from Japan, and two Swiss watches -- a Tissot men's Classic Dream and a Luminox Black Ops 8800.

Looking back, I wish I had bought a couple of those legendary watches -- Omega or of course Rolex -- back in the 70s or early 80s, but who has that kind of money when you're young?

I collected football cards as a kid, but not much as an adult.

I collect Magic, the Gathering cards, but haven't gotten much new lately.

I've recently gotten back into retro video games, and have been collecting some there.

I just picked up a copy of Secret of Mana for my collection. I was pretty happy with the find.

As a kid who seriously played baseball all of the time. From little league to high school; I lettered in baseball as a star 3rd baseman.

I collected mainly MLB and NFL trade cards even before I started to play baseball because I got the free bubblegum. By the time my first son, Daniel, started to show a serious interest in collecting both MLB and NFL cards himself, I had amassed quite a lot.

Finally, for some reason, I gave Daniel all of my cards to add to his. I suppose I started to lose interest and he hadn't through his high school. I believe that he still collects but not as heavy as he use to. He still has all of mine, which were box full after another box full.

It was fun.

I likely collect far too many things!

I have literally hundreds of Funko pop figures (though have gotten less in last few years due to nowhere to put them!); collect Star wars lego; started to collect some Pokemon Cards when my son started to get into them as he liked us both collecting them; collect lots of fantasy/science fiction books too (and likely more things i have forgotten!)

One thing I forgot to mention is that I used to collect tickets from concerts, sporting events, ect. I still have the ticket stub from my first rock concert. It was Aerosmith when I was 16 years old. The show had to be rescheduled, twice, but I finally got to go. They are still one of my favorite bands. I threw out most of my old tickets though, it just felt like hoarding. Anytime I watch hoarders I am reminded that I have too much stuff and I start putting items in donation boxes or just throwing stuff out. It's probably good for me that all my tickets are now electronic.
