hajime Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 Hi I take it by strong you mean in karate rather than physical strength? 4th Kyu meant in my version you can with certain skill carry out front, side, back, hook, roundhouse, crescent, axe, as well as jumping, spinning versions and in combination 8 katas elbow stirkes, knife hand, spearhand, punches, backfists all in various combinations I'd stay if you don't have any confidence by them you never will. and YES wear a box/ some groin protection. Accidents can happen and being careful always makes sense 700 hours of official training. Injury finished me dammit!1st Kyu Wado Ryu
telsun Posted October 23, 2003 Posted October 23, 2003 I take it by strong you mean in karate rather than physical strength? I presumed that too, but I thought he meant strength of technique not ability to perform a technique. Strength of technique is down to your physical build, your technique and your speed. Because we are all different builds, poccess different learning ability, etc it is impossible to say exacty when you will become strong. But with dedication and good instruction you should become progressively stronger well up into your dan grades. One point on your own strength. It is not always apparent to you that your technique is getting stronger, get someone you can rely to give you feedback. I keep asking God what I'm for and he tells me........."gee I'm not sure!"
mArTiAl_GiRl Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 in what kyus do you become strong? It depends, especially on the person. Kill is love
Darce Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Some people will never get strong. Shukokai Karate, Orange belt ( 7. kyu)
hajime Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Some people will never get strong. I disagree. all Dan martial artists at the clubs I went to were strong, from the petite women to the large men. seriously. 700 hours of official training. Injury finished me dammit!1st Kyu Wado Ryu
