I was power breaking on ESPN, and some guy broke 415- 1" thick boards in 1 minute (which is quite incredible to watch). It was part of a competion in Florida somewhere(Part of US Open, i think). What is this guys name? Did anyone else see this? What is the most amount of boards you have personally broke at once?

 hmmmm..get me the guys address if you can. I need somebody to come up here and make me a whole stack of kindling for my fireplace. Winter's coming ya know!

As for how many boards I have personally broken? Well, in the nearly 29 years I've been involved in the MA's, I have never broken so much as one single board!

Know why?

I've never been attacked by a board yet! Never know, maybe today will be the day! :karate:

Just a quick explanation, in all seriousness. We don't believe in board breaking, other than it is for show, and proves nothing. It's OK if you do though, just not our thing. The only time I've ever been impressed by a board break demo at a tournament I was judging, was a guy by the name of Gus Fandanola (sp?) that was a Hung Gar practioner. He did a one FINGER (index) break of a 12x12x1/2" board. I was VERY impressed by that!

But you know what Gus said to me after he got his first place trophie? He said..."If you ever hear of me trying to do that again, slap some sense into me will ya!" He badly sprained/jammed that finger and you should have seen how big it swelled up to by the end of the tournament!

My nightly prayer..."Please, just let me win that PowerBall Jackpot just once. I'll prove to you that it won't change me!"

Hehehehehe I agree with that LOL. Every time there's a breaking clinic or something, I'm the first to be there to pack up on the wood :D

But, I think he/she ment in a single break. Mine was three boards with a side kick.

415 boards in one minute? He must have broke 10-20 per strike. But how clean a break were they?

It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

Here's the info from recordholder.org site. Mike Reeves is his name.

The record accepted by the Guinness Book is 314 by Mike Reeves (USA) on 30 July 1999 at ISKA World Breaking Championships at Walt Disney's Coranado Springs Resort (USA).

In 2002, Mike Reeves broke his own record with 415 at the US Open world karate championships (ISKA) which was held at the Contemporary Hotel in Walt Disney World, Orlando (USA).

The previous record holder in this category was William Muzzy (USA) with 206 boards.

Thanks, he is an awsome power breaker. Most of the boards where a cleam break. I would never thought that someone could break 6 concrete stones with a knife hand strike until I saw Mike reeves do it. :)

We went to the Arnold Classic this year (Named after the current governor of California) and some dude set a world record ripping a bunch of phone books in half in a minute, or some comperable time period. I have some pics, but they're unresized and HUGE.

Before:

during/after:

You can see the phone books... the funny part is if you look to the right of their little ring enclosure you can see about 6 big red bricks up high with a wooden platform next to them. The "leader" guy stood on the wooden platform, gave a highly emotional (kids dont do drugs if you want to be successful like us) speech, then broke the 6 bricks with his FOREHEAD!

Yah kids... be like us, don't (don't?) do drugs like us, and you too can smash your head into stuff.
