tommarker Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 I think it could be used that way, certainly... but I've heard of instructors who charge their kids money just to fill out a tournament form (tournament fee not included) Our club has a demo team, but it doesn't cost anything to be on, and we only take it to the 2 tournaments per year that we do. We do some pretty cool stuff with bunkai or other themes. It's very educational for our students. I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Practice is the key _ Posted January 22, 2004 Posted January 22, 2004 Oh, no need to explain demonstration should have knowed been playing demos games on my ps3. Somone love oneSomone love twoI love one That one is myself just have been turn down....
ramymensa Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 We've never been involved in a demo team, and I think we would all do the demo. I'm with Shorinryu Sensei on this. A certain student not picked for the demo team would (correctly) assume he sucks and that would make a big zero from all my previous encouragements. It's useless for me to say ... you're doing OK, your technique is better and so on. I don't chose him, he knows why. And the others too. Imagine the relation between your yound students in such case. Kids and teenagers can be quite b...y in such situation. World Shotokan Karate
