y'know, i've been talking to some of my friends about it and the same kinda comments came up that were mentioned about crouching tiger hidden dragon...

'over the top'

'doesn't make sense'

'ridiculous'

but then it occured to me that unless you're chinese/japanese and have been raised on films like these, you will think the same.

a lot said that there was too much blood but that's normal in that sort of film.

the film only has to make sense in it's own world

i think the fact that he managed to make a film that feels so much like a proper chinese/japanese kung fu flick shows what a craftsman he truely is.

(a side-note, i felt that crouching tiger wasn't really like a proper hk flick, too polished...)

well, that i put down to it being too polished.

hey don't get me wrong, i loved the ice storm.

and i thikn that he's a great director.

but for a 'foreign' film, it still had that hollywood feel...

could just be that i'm used to hk films with virtually no budget.

well, i liked it.

kinda funny at times.

then there's that bit where he gets fried and his body slides down the road in that coat of his...

some really wonderfully crafted scenes and niceley paced throughout.

Kill Bill was kind of funny at times but I don't think it is all that great of a movie. Of course I don't really like that type of movie. I will watch the second but not in the thearte. (I think there is suppose to be 3 of them but I am not sure)

yep.

just two halves.

and well strickly speaking, it's one movie just split into two easily digestable parts so kill bill vol2 is NOT a sequel...
