yeah jiin or as we say it Giin is the third kata in that group. All prob. came from the same base kata and have developed over time. Giin is one of my favorite kata but its not practiced a lot. Im also a big fan of Jittie. Jion is ok but I like the other 2 better.

(General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

For Shito-Ryu, the four kata's used for our Black Belt Testing (Seiko-Kai) is Jitte, Jiin, Jion, and Bassai-Dai, as well as any Kata you may have learned before.

If I'm not mistaken, TSD also has Jitte, but we call it Sip Soo (10 hands).

true.

I often have difficulty remembering which of the Japanese forms equate to the names we use in TSD..

The Korean is enough at times :) At one point, I tried to read as much as I could about Sip Soo, because I just didn't get it.

Oh yeah... still don't completely get it!

I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
