CPU Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 I did learn a little akedo (spelling?) so i do know how to do some things, but i was wondering if any of you guys could tell me where some of the pressure points are located and how to do submission techneques. kempocos Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 take a class , learning point locations is not going to help. Doing is the only way "If you don't want to get hit while sparring , join the cardio class"
SoulAssassin Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 Best thing to do is take a class, if you try to learn by reading, or looking at pictures online it does nothing for you. When you have a instructor showing you how and telling you how it works then proceeding to try them you will learn. Remember, chokes/pressurepoints can cause serious injury or death. Sometimes the online world of learning does not stress that enough. -SoulAssassin"I aint gonna eat, I aint gonna sleep, aint gonna breath till I see what I wanna see and what I wanna see is you goto asleep, in the dirt permanently"
Sasori_Te Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 Nope, an instrucor will have to tell you that. And in most cases that all depends on how old you are. A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.
battousai16 Posted September 25, 2003 Posted September 25, 2003 hehe, sasori_te, i love your signature yeah, there are a lot of technicalities in that sort of thing which can either result in injury or will leave the technique ineffective. best bet is to find some nice guy who knows what s/he's doing and have him/her show you some stuff. Treebranch Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Submission techniques can turn into breaking techniques quite easily. Pressure points come in handy when your in a pinch, but I wouldn't recommend them as a form of attack. It's helpful, but not essential. CPU Posted October 8, 2003 Author Posted October 8, 2003 yeah, i guess it is kinda touchy to put things out on the internet, but i can't seem to find anyone around me that does or did do akido Sparring - loved by many perfected by few
