I live in Pennsylvania, and we've been in the hurricane since 8 p.m. last night. It hasn't been too bad...fairly strong winds (30 to 40 mph) and sheeting rain. A lot of our local schools freaked out yesterday and closed at noon...except for mine, of course. I go to a boarding school, and they don't close for bad weather because 70% of their students live there and can walk to classes. For the 30% of students that commute (which includes me), it kind of presents a problem :(

Well, I'll be off to school pretty soon...hopefully my heavy backpack will keep me from blowing away!! :(

Are you in its path? Has it hit you yet? How has it affected you?

I hear that about a million people in Virginia are out of power! :(

Clouds coming up from the southeast today supposed to be bringing us rain. Forecasters up here have never seen this before.

It's happy hour somewhere in the world.

I lived in NJ about 30 to 40 minutes from the shore. Now I live in NY (Rochester area). They all freaked out because of the 30 mile an hour winds, canceled schools and such. I was thinking .... what ?!?!?!?!?! LOL. When I lived in NJ we had 100 mile an hour winds. We went swimming LOL.

I like it when it gets all rainy, but we never get hurricanes here, only tornadoes. Whenever there's a big storm I like to run around outside cackling. Rain kicks butt!
