At the end of my class, my instructor called me up to the front of the class, put his hand on my shoulder and said: "It's not every day you get to turn 16, so if [karate mom] can get up here without burning the dojo down..." everybody started singing happy birthday as the karate mom brought up a strawberry cheesecake with 16 candles on it I felt so loved Then one of my friends (whose mother brought up the cheesecake) gave me a monkey figure.
