aznkarateboi Posted December 16, 2003 Posted December 16, 2003 style matters. end of story. if it doesn't you'd be just as well of learning aznkarateboi's gumming style rather than shotokan
shotokanwarrior Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 that is just your opinion not a fact. just like I have an opinion. style does not matter. you can have 3 styles boxing beats karate. but karate beats kung fu, but kung fu beats boxing......so which style mattered????? NONE. each person had a good and bad day. Where Art ends, nature begins.
Venezolano Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Style DOES matter, but it not all depends about style. Valencia - Venezuela.
shotokanwarrior Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Is it not true that there are gifted people who excell in their martial art? But I say this, They would excell in any art that they did just for the fact that, it is the way they are as individuals. I have seen black belts worth nothing and I have seen some of the same art that are exellent. There are 300 ways to break an arm, the individual will determin what technique to use. Where Art ends, nature begins.
Venezolano Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 That happens when the style "sell" or "give as a gift" their belts.. It's not only the individual, you can very very good by nature but if your style never train realistic, and do sparring how can you be effective? Valencia - Venezuela.
shotokanwarrior Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Im sure that if i was in a style like that I would leave. Where Art ends, nature begins.
Venezolano Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 Well.. most karate schools do it.. hehe But that's not the topic Valencia - Venezuela.
shotokanwarrior Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 I started another post about this, do you have data to prove what you are saying? show it to me. Where Art ends, nature begins.
cymry Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 In a competition fight, karateka would be taken to school by the Muay Thai guys, simply because the MT guys are trained to fight in the ring. On the street, karate's more brutal techniques would give it a great advantage over the MT guys.
Venezolano Posted December 17, 2003 Posted December 17, 2003 LOL, yeah for sure, screaming KIAIII!! PD: shotokanwarrior where did you put a thread about it to discuss it? i'm very interested to do it Valencia - Venezuela.
