shaolinprincess
I am currently a 5th kyu. Promotion will be the 29th for me. I will be on the 4th belt from shodan. I do it cause I love it. It is something different from day to day life. I am in an Okinawan style, originated from the old Shuri-te style.I am now a 4th kyu, third stipe on my green belt. Then I have three brown belts, then a black belt It's what you put into it...1st kyu-Okinawa Shorin Ryu Matsumura Seito Federation
DeeLovesKarate
What does gup and kyu mean? Does it refer to amount of belts you've tested for?It means grade. The grades, for belt, go backwards in most martial arts, that I've seen. 1st or 0 kyu is usually a blackbelt. Example, I am a high purple belt, high 7th kyu, I believe. I'll check later.
