What is Everyones Actual Rank and Form Of Martial arts?

Recommended Posts

I am a 2nd dan in shotokan....ever notice that people who say belts mean nothing are usually guys who go not have high belts makes you think.

being a high ranking belt does not mean you can fight but it does mean you have the discipline to stay with something and achieve a goal

do not be so quick to dis people who have rank

what is inside counts but people lead by example not by being tranquill and in harmony with the universe

the world rewards actions

Red belt in tae kwon do....our system goes in this color order, and there are "high and low" rankings of each belt...white, yellow, orange, blue, green, red, brown, black. Been training three years, and one of the instructors did a lot of nunchaku when he studies karate, so we do a lot of that in class, I'm pretty good freestyle.

I, too, am a white belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

I've been doing Muay Thai for a little over a month now. No rank, but I guess you can consider me a white belt. I'm doing it for self defense, dicipline, and because I couldn't wait to start anymore!

Look, ramcalgary. I know you weren't referring to anyone but I wasn't dissing or cutting anyone. Because I don't have a high belt doesn't mean I don't do my katas as sharp as anyone else or better. Or can fight and hold my ground. And just because I don't believe the importance of a belt or don't even know where my last one is, does not mean I don't have respect for a higher ranking people. I know the dedication it takes to be a black belt and when I get mine, will be proud to put it on my resume. And cheer up man, it's only a freaking post.

Os!!!

i practise kung fu (guess which one from my name!)

we don't have belts or grades.

we just know who have been there longer and who are better and who are not.

we know who turns up regularly and who doesn't.

and we know who wotks hard and who doesn't.

after all "kung fu" does translate as "work".

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.
