preventing corruption and politics in Karate ... How?

This again is inspired by another post. What sort of checks and balances could be put in place to prevent the spread of corruption and politics in our art? I'm speaking of karate generically as any system that has it's heritage in the Okinawan art of Karate. How can we, as hopefully honorable practitioners, do this?

A block is a strike is a lock is a throw.

Hmm. I don't think you really can keep "politics" out of anything. Wherever people gather, alliances, cliques, gossip and politics rear their ugly heads. All you can really do as a person/martial artist is to do your best to stay out of it whenever possible.

hypothetical situation;

if u were to defend urself against, say a common person who's had a bad day, and u use a move that brakes something, or if u TAKE THE KNIFE AWAY FROM THEM and use it against them (which u normally shouldnt do if ur such a better fighter than them that u can take that knife, but this is a hypothetical situation), they could sue and probably win because u are a martial artist

They might be able to attempt to sue, but given the nature of their attack (attack with a weapon), I seriously doubt they'd get anywhere. I've been taught that when a knife comes out you are going to get cut; if the person's arm happens to get broken as I'm trying to defend myself , and I use only the force necessary and don't go overboard, I think I'd be just fine. However, I'm a small woman, and while I have a black belt, I'm not so arrogant as to believe myself invincible; if someone was a knife defense specialist and went ballistic on the person then maybe the suing attempt might be successful.

sasori-te in the begining I was just like you,I founded weir to had to pay for ranking plus in some school you have to pay for stripes so if you have 3 stripes to change to the next belt at the end the art is prety expencive.but in one school when it was the time for grading the sensei took us in a room all alone and we would spend the hole hour with him,so I kind a put it more like a private lesson guest it a way to look at it.but like I already said some school are selling there black belt and it a fact but at the end we train for the street and we have to stay focus on that.

I don't train for belt color I train to survive on the street

I got my yelllow tip for 780 Baht.

I wish you could not paid for belts only lessons. and when you reach your goal you just get your belt for free. Oh 1 lesson cost 325 Baht around £5 or $10.

I am still training however, having dabbled in Shotokan and Shotokai Karate. I am please to report that Kenshukai is one of the strongest and most disciplined styles ( i did not write this)
