stl_karateka Posted November 20, 2003 Posted November 20, 2003 Nope --- they are a hybrid from all over. I know DX does a soft style -- but that is all I know. John Su does hard and soft Casey Marks does hard (japanese/okinawan) and I am sure they have some Korean stylists on the team KarateForums.com Sempai
CPU Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 i saw the night show at the dimonds, the mens forms were awsome!!! DX also did a form with some chain weapon (i forget the name) i even got it on tape!! Sparring - loved by many perfected by few
LeopardGold Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 Its a cool looking 'gymnastic' performance but with the ma.
stl_karateka Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 Thats why they call it 'sport' martial arts and separate the divisions from the traditionalists I saw DX at the bluegrass -- I believe he did the same for...it was awesome! He also did a bo form --- most impressive! KarateForums.com Sempai
CPU Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 precisesly why they call the two devisions differently, sport ma are for the ppl who like gymastics, traditional are for those who want the practical side of it. :) :) :) :) :) :) Sparring - loved by many perfected by few
LeopardGold Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 I think the traditional looks more like a sport than the 'sport' one. Anyway I don't mind seeing it....I was just making the comment that it really isn't ma.

Toast Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 I was lucky to see Gerald Dawson...he is a very close friend of my master not to mention a very nice person. He fights for Paul Mitchell, very big guy, about 200-300 pounds... <Victory Martial Arts>15 yrs old; 6 yrs in TKD1st Degree Black BeltJr. Olympian | Team USA Qualifier"Train Like A Champion, Fight Like A Warrior"
