Total 5 competitions

Sanda : Muay Thai is 3:2

Place: Thailand

I have seen only 2 competitions,

Sanda fighter can stand and fight better

and be able to tackle Muay Thai Low kick better.

Side kick to head and Throw can get some point.

Anyone know about the details, I am not sure

about the Muay Thai fighters this time. :-?

Meanwhile, Sanda fighters are the Top in Chna,

Later, I may have MPEG file from my friend.

It's always the same! China's Government sends the best fighters from all over their enormous Country to fight a few mid level Muay thai pros. It always ends in a "draw"

If you think about it just based on talent pool Thailand is winning even when they tie. Because the population of China will produce more good fighters, its basic math. If 5% of your population can be top notch fighters then a country with 100 time more people will have 100 times more great fighters!

Anyway I don't know which is better because they never let the Thais use elbows. Also sometimes they ban knees to the head!

I too have also only seen two of these tournaments (on VCDs from some guy in Singapore) and I also saw a Sanda fighter in the K-1 world max 2002 tournament. From what I’ve seen, in general the Sanda fighters have poor form in punches and poor conditioning.

Something I think would be interesting would be a Sanda tournament of Sanda fighters vs MMA fighters. Sure the Sanda rules would be restrictive against mixed martial artists, but I’d venture to guess that Sanda would not do well (especially if judged by neutral judges).

BTW, this time the Sanda player fight better

and be more active to fight back. More better

physical condition than before.

I am more impressed by this because last

few time, Sanda fighters have been claimed

as runners or swimmers for using side kick to

get point & go out.

Sorry, White Shark

I don't agree with your point because this time

Thai can use elbow but with pad and Knee OK

but no point. Hopefully, in the future, this can be

modified more. And Thailand have also sent their best

fighter to deal with Sanda on 2002.

Result is 4:1, Muay Thai : Sanda

The latest 5 competitions on 8 August,

1 Muay Thai fighter being TKO and 1 Thai Muay being KO by punch.

I don't think Thai side would keep silent because

this competition happen in Thai Big Stadium....

More competitions would come soon.

I don't have any biase on either one because I

learnt both art.

To Tofu:

Still I don't think Sanda fighters can handle MMA competition

May take some more years

Did Thailand send world champions... No

Did Thailand send national champions... No

Did Thailand send divisional champions... No

Did Thailand send provincial champions... No

As White Shark stated, Thailand sends mid-level Pro's to fight the best San Shou and Sanda fighters that China has to offer. Does Sanda have more wins over Muay Thai… Yes, but the majority of wins by Sanda are due to points by decisions and the majority of their losses are from knockouts. The majority of wins by Muay Thai are by knockouts while the majority of their losses are on points by decisions. Overall the only thing that these challenge matchs prove is that Muay Thai is far more physical destructive causing greater damage resulting in knockouts, while Sanda looks good on paper by way of points due to throws.

To SupaNinjaz:

If you read carefully, match in 2002

in Thailand on King of Thai's Birthday

when all the best Muay Thai fighters have

been sent.

Result is 4:1.

Muay Thai win 4 game (3 by KO & 1 by points)

While Sanda have 1 only. (By point)

Sanda lost pretty bad indeed.

This time in Thailand 8 August when

the result is 3:2. But maybe I supposed

Muay Thai fighters this time are not the best

because their age are usually 28 or something.

Maybe they are ex-Champion.

Anyway, I am still unable to prove this.

But one point is sure that the Best from Muay Thai

should go for another battle again for

1 Thai fighter being TKO and 1 being KO this time.

To: Tofu

I would agree with what you say that

the Sanda fighter has a poor form of punch

in K-1 max. I've seen some of game that

he played in King of Sanda in China.

He usually threw a punch in very big action

and when the punch landed on the neck of

oppoent, he would use throw.

However, K-1 cannot use throw.

But no matter how, I don't think the guy

has any chance to win that game in considering

that Sanda fighters by that time are not very

good in dealing with Thai low kick and knee.

Thank you for your website. :brow:

By the way, some information is translated
