Just got off the bike after testing a light that i've been putting together. If you haven;t already try a rip through the forest at night - once your body fatigues your mind plays all kinds of tricks.

Also snow riding is a hoot too.

MTN biking of course... Road biking is for boring ppl....

2001 K2 Zed 4.0

(not the best bike, but hey, I'm only a college student and it was $500 on sale from $700.)

Tektro brakes

Deore Lx rear derail.

Deore front derail.

sucky tires, but no rolling resistance.

Judy TT front sus

Next bike, I'm planning on building from the ground up with shimano XT's all around, nice Manitou or Rock Shox suspension, and fox rears. Hayes mech. diskes. Of course that's once I get out of college and start workin so i can make the $$$.

what bike did you buy?? Also, please don't be one of those yuppy ppl who buy $3G bikes and ride it around town and gravel city trails.

I casually bike ride (like to school and such), and occasionally I do some mountain biking, but im not really big into it.

Heres a tip though. Dont become a hardcore bmx or mountain biker or anything like that and dont ride your bike tonnes (like more than 25 hours every week), it damages the tubing on the inside of your body and causes genital problems later in life.

that's very true. there has been a scientific research on this and it said that over 3000 miles a year on your bike can cause low sperm count and stuff. I only ride about 4~5 hours a week, in the summer and fall. Spring and winter are my snowboarding dayz...

hmm, why mech disc? If you're going XT components you'd get a better deal buying an XT hydro kit.

As for the study, it's not just the hours, it's the way you spend the hours on the bike. If you're constantly going over rough terrain without standing up you are bashing your seat into your groin. Much like punching yourself repeatedly down south. Also the research used subjects that have been mtn biking long before rear suspension, improved saddles, seat post absorbers had been cheaply and widely available.

Basically you just need to listen to your body. Going numb down there is should not be part of a regular ride.

LOL, so true... but mine is only Hard tail...better get that FS bike...

anyways, I want to get mechs, so I can work on it myself. If I get hydros, I gotta think about the hydro fluid and bleeding calipers and other things that may result from a more complicated system. though i may be wrong and hydros might be simpler than what I think...
