Kumite988 Posted August 19, 2003 Posted August 19, 2003 Any here know of any good combinations that actually work.... Or moves that can stunt your opponent drasticly.... By either faking them or something similar? Well I don't quite know what you mean by 'actually work' I think all combos 'actually work' in the right situation... what do you mean by stunt your opponent? I'm also guessing your talking about a sparring situation. Well depending on your level one that I can't quite do but is good is a roundhouse to the head and a hook kick on the way back. Punch, Jab, Backfist is really easy and can be effective. Basically in sparring just hop up and down strike fast and pull back fast.
Rising Soldier Posted August 19, 2003 Author Posted August 19, 2003 By that you mean a round-house and a spinning Hook kick? wouldn't spinning give you more momentum? A yellow belt who's words never hurt, yet skills send chills throughout the body.Shotokan Student - 11 months training
Rising Soldier Posted August 19, 2003 Author Posted August 19, 2003 Any more suggestions anybody , everybody? What move do you use that feels more effective, or just has a constant chance of getting in? By the way, What can be done to stop hesitation? Sens55 Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Depends on who it is. Lots of things can work, but nothing works all the time. That's why we learn so many moves. Some things will work on an amateur but won't fool someone who's trained. As a general rule, don't box a boxer or grapple a grappler. I try to put them out of their element. That's why I study stand up and ground work. Not so I can match them in their strengths, but exploit their weaknesses. That being said, I like to throw a couple of low roundhouses to get them to move their feet. It tells me if they're comfortable moving around. If not, I attack their legs. If so I'll keep attacking low and try to draw their focus to my feet to open up a few jabs to the head.
TKD Chosen One Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 A good finisher you could do would be to get into your fatality stance and push front back front down x and then you will proceed to use you chi powers to lift them off the ground and break every bone in their body.....but, in case your name isn't Kenshi, then i would suggest boxing their ears, a punch to the stomach, followed by a knee to the face. Game Over.
G95champ Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 Just depends on the situation but the step behind side or spinnint thrust are mine. Im also a fan of pulling their spin out by their throat. Drunken Monkey Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 not quite a finishing move but is fun. short sweep to ankles with a little shove to the chest. little effort and movement but they end up on the floor quickly post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are."When you have to kill a man it costs nothing to be polite."
