karatekid1975
We all get a turn being uke. I don't mind it, because like it has been said already, it's a good (but painful) way to learn. You know the stuff works Laurie F
monkeygirl
I never really got to be uke much because I was the smallest person in my class. Instead, I was usually the teacher making someone else my uke The few times that I WAS uke however, it was pretty fun. It's interesting to feel a new technique done to you for the first time by someone who knows how to do it. It's just not the same when you're with your partner who's struggling to remember. For certain techniques, however, I could see where it would be a little difficult. If the instructor is doing a technique behind your back, you have no idea how he's doing it because you can't see. Sure, you can feel what s/he's doing to some extent, but you can't really tell about hand placement/body position, etc. You just hope really hard that your partner understands what's being taught! 1st dan & Asst.
