sano
wait a second what about hong kong phoey number one super guy, BIG O, lupin the third, inspector gadget. fairly odd parents is nothing but a rip off between ren and stimpy which is way better and that other nicktoon where they use to live in a comic book i forgot the the name of that one only thing i remember is the name of the characters Henry and Jun. and i can not belive you guys forgot about jonny quest and birdman thats where these anime guys got their material from the old action cartoons of america. jonny quest was like the first serious prime time action cartoon of U.S and that show has me cry laughing because of the 2-d bad animation that HB is known for two words instant classic. falcon kick!!! battousai16
well, if you're gonna bash fairly odd parents for holy cream fillings (i have yet to hear this), then you're gonna wanna point out that ren n' stimpy was ripping off batman from way back in 1966 "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
sano
ok i was giving an example. batman is a classic they can do that. but cow and chicken was out around the same time frame as F.O. parents so that means they can't come up with their on material. 66 ??? man how old are you? 50 falcon kick!!! rb
I like robotech cuz i'm a sucker for technology and future concepts. The macross movies have a little less whining in them which is preferable but gundam wing take the cake for chat. That and dragon ball z.
battousai16
actually i'm 17 all that aside, ren n' stimpy, FO parents, and cow and chicken (which i couldn't stand, btw) are all far from the best cartoons. i think the one that i probably enjoyed the most and had the greatest impact on me was teenage mutant ninja turtles. i still bring out my old tapes from time to time, lol "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
monkeygirl
Yeah, one of my friends and I are seriously considering having a TMNT movie marathon pretty soon. Sano: all cartoons are going to share similar traits. As far as jokes being similar, well if they're targeted towards kids they're going to have similar themes, setup styles and possibly even "cartoon dialect". Cow & Chicken was very close to Ren & Stimpy...both of them focused on being disgusting, annoying and yet more disgusting. They basically had no plot from what I remember...I couldn't stand either of them. Fairly Oddparents, however, is about saving the world! They even have good morals and habits injected in there, such as the episode that Chris Kirkpatrick guest-starred in, when they were talking about clean shiny teeth. Plus, there's just something about a huge, Austrian fairy shouting "But I like scrambling the fairies!" There's probably lots and lots of cartoons we haven't mentioned yet (such as Garfield and Friends...one of my favorites when I was five), so if someone remembers, remind us, ok? 1st dan & Asst. Black Dragon
As for new cartoons, Oblongs are pretty funny, and so is Futurama. But THE funniest cartoon is Family Guy, if you haven't seen it, you must watch it if only for the evil talking baby. So recognize or be hospitalized Cuz literally on a scale from one to ten I'm 25. battousai16
as far as old cartoons go, ghostbusters was one i have fond memories of. and family guy rocks! "patch me through to the pentagon!" "can you count to 3?" "don't toy with me, ernie! i've already dispatched with mr. hooper, i have six armed men surrounding big birds nest, and as for linda? well, it's kind of difficult for a deaf woman to hear an assassin approach, isn't it?" that reminds me for some reason, my older sister and i used to do the muppet babies thing, too.
