nate Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 Does anyone know of a good web site or videos for the jo?
CloudDragon Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 nope A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit!
Chellechan Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 There's a couple jo-related vids here: http://www.pointgreyaikikai.com/gallery/gallery.html Here's some other videos: http://iwamaryujms.free.fr/Clips%20video%20O%20Sensei4.html http://www.aikidofaq.com/video/bookman_13_kata.mov Can't find a whole lot at the moment, but I have a bunch on my harddrive I can't find the sites for. If you search on Google or another search site for "jo kata" or something like that, you'll find more. There's a couple nice little books out on the jo. You can probably find them on Bay or half.com really cheap.

WapCaplet Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I train at a Shotokan Karate club and we learn the Jo staff there as well. Other weapons we have trained with include bo, bokken, nunchaku, sai, tonfa, kama and shinai. Wap "Fighting fighting. Same Same""But you know karate!""Someone always know more..."
SaiFightsMS Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 One way to look at a jo is to see it as a cane. Before canes were made with crooks in the handle and rubber tips on the end.
