Can't find a whole lot at the moment, but I have a bunch on my harddrive I can't find the sites for. If you search on Google or another search site for "jo kata" or something like that, you'll find more.

 

There's a couple nice little books out on the jo. You can probably find them on Bay or half.com really cheap.

I train at a Shotokan Karate club and we learn the Jo staff there as well. Other weapons we have trained with include bo, bokken, nunchaku, sai, tonfa, kama and shinai.

One way to look at a jo is to see it as a cane. Before canes were made with crooks in the handle and rubber tips on the end.
