Angus Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 I was just curious to know if anyone had a favourite takedown, from any position or circumstance. I personally enjoy defending against a punch by slapping it away, and grabbing at the same time, pulling in the direction of the punch and subsequently throwing the attacker off balance, then tackling them so their face is on the ground. I apply a mount and choke then. It's great fun! Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
Kickbutt Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 That's exactly one of our Epon Kumite's we do Angus - it loads of fun!! Lori If you think something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room.-Unknown-
kajugangsta Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 I like the double leg takedown its easy and effective. you can do it from any angle. And you can set them up for a good submission.
Prodigy-Child Posted October 7, 2001 Posted October 7, 2001 i really like my shoulder throw and my hip throw alot. mainly because i can set my arm bar up directly from those throws if im still standing and if ive fallen i can go straight into my head and arm hold down (scarf hold down) You can boo me if you want, You know I'm right!-Chris Rock
Angus Posted October 9, 2001 Author Posted October 9, 2001 Cool.... Hey Lori, do u actually learn Japanese terminologies in your kickboxing? Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.

Another I am very fond of is grabbing the punch and thereafter pulling Uke's arm behind his shoulder towards the ground, also very easy... Lars Østergaard
Rambo2001 Posted October 31, 2001 Posted October 31, 2001 I Prefer the sacred behind takedown known only to human beings as the Great Nokotushi which is very unique takedown that only a few select people in the world can do
Slider Posted January 16, 2002 Posted January 16, 2002 I'll take a hit if I can grab the guy for a good takedown..normally I prefer surprises, so I like to get in and grab the shoulder, then down we go Hasta!!
