wrestlingkaratechamp Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 If you are going to the movies you have to see American Wedding! If you are renting a movie then rent This movie called :Brother" If you can find it its very good It has omar epps and baet tabeshki. I think thats how you spell it This weeks movie never to waste money on-8 mile Some people liked it but I personnly hated it!
monkeygirl Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 I still haven't seen the first two American Pie movies, although my parents just saw them recently...my dad is against me watching them, but I think my mom disagrees with him (but what else is new ). They both loved the movies and I'd like to see them, but oh well. In a year and a half I'll be 18 and can rent them for myself. I've never heard of Brother but I might check it out, thanks. I've never been a big fan of eminem...I laughed at the thought of him making a "serious" film. I mean, c'mon...he paraded around in a Robin costume for one of his videos! 1st dan & Asst. Kumite988 Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 How about Seabiscuit? I thought it was great even though at first I didn't wanna see it. But eventually my mom and dad convinced me it would be a "good experience". So I saw it and it was REAL good. I ALMOST (Note: Almost) Cried! (Didn't want to lose my manliness there by admitting I actually cried... LOL )
battousai16 Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 well, i personally thought that american wedding was pretty bad. they tried to blend the comedy with the first one with a pleasant romance story and it just didn't turn out. on top of that, most of the "commedy" was just a bunch o' gimmicks that worked in the first two, but didn't play out here. the dance-a-thon in the gay bar was hilarious, though . and i understand that seabiscuit is supposed to be a brilliant and wonderful movie, i just don't see how it could be. maybe it's cuz i don't like horses, or i don't much care for the actor, or simply because i've seen so many "underdog-comes-out-on-top" movies the novelty has worn off, but it dosen't look like a movie i want to see much. monkeygirl Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 Seabiscuit was a really good movie! My dad's a fan of horse racing, so we decided to go. My great-grandfather used to own race horses so it kinda runs in the family. Anyway, Seabiscuit is based on the book by Laura Hillenbrand. I've never read the book, but I've heard that it's excellent...you don't have to be a horse fan to enjoy it, it's just plain a classic. I think the same goes for this movie. It was a little weird seeing Tobey Maguire as a redhead, but he did an awesome job in this role. When I watched Spiderman, I kept seeing Lou, the puppy from Cats & Dogs that Tobey lent his voice to. In Seabiscuit though, I just saw Tobey's character...not Lou, not Spiderman...just Red. That's a good thing...it meant that he really captured my attention. 1st dan & Asst. King of Fighters Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 I wouldnt reccomend anyone to rent the movie brother, it was a big steaming pile of horse crap.
Tibby Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 If you like Action, rent “Cradle 2 the Grave” with Jet Li and DMX, coming out Tuesday. Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Chuck Lindell and some other Pro Fighters have a cameo appearance, and they go at if for a short clip, not choreographed, but a full on fight. Even Mimi-me gets a little action against Let Li! The plot was pretty good, classic “Cop and bad guys team up to fight even more evil bad guys who want to sell some WMD the first bad guys stole to more even more rich bad guys” story line. There is a LITTLE wire work, but most of it is good old faction brutal fighting sense, they aren’t trying to copy the Martix, they only use the wire when they have to, and spend most of the time with good old fashion Martial Arts action. If you are a big fan of Action films, this is a MUST SEE! ANyone seen Gigle yet? It sounds REALLY bad! lol, I mean, with the reveiws it has been getting, DAMN, is sound REALLY REALLY rough. lol, we need to go see it!
