in road work do you run all that you are going to run in one workout time? I read that rocky marciano ran 7 miles a day, did he spread them out or run at the same time.

The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.

i guess one huge long road will do more for the stamina than a few short ones. or atleast thats what i've found from when i used to do a lot of running. i've recently stopped smoking so my stamina is close to zero.

a boxer i know runs 10 miles on saterday, 10 on sunday, and 3-5 on the weekdays.

One run a week LSD (Long, Slow, Distance) for the Endurance.

Then (once you can run 4 or 5 miles comfortably) interval runs once or twice a week to build up fitness for the ring/competition or whatever. For example, if you box 3 minute rounds with a 1 minute break, you might do:

1 minute moderate running

1.5 minutes fast running

30 seconds sprint

- followed by 1 minute jog or walk recovery

Then repeat....

Skipping can work as well as the intervals, if you vary the intensity.

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.

Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.
