shanemm Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Sun Tzu said: In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy them. applying that to this situation the best thing for you to do would be to choke him out or joint lock him until someone comes to help you. if you fight him with kicks and punches he might be desperate enough to pull a weapon but if you choke or joint lock him it's to late for him to pull one. on the stupid...i mean legal ...side of things the jerk might hire a lawyer and sue you if you punch and kick him , then it's his word and bruises vs. your word and...no bruises. when he has your legs turn your body and drop a leg to the ground then force his neck onto your leg and choke him out. or you can get over his body a little more and put your arms around and under his then lift up while sitting on his head. of corse the best way to defeat him is not to fight him but i guess if micheal johnson wants to pick a fight with you there's nothing you can do but hand his butt to him... . There are two types of people in the world. Those that find excuses and those that find a way.-Unknown

Black Dragon Posted August 11, 2003 Author Posted August 11, 2003 Is it not a good idea do try and deliver a well timed knee? So recognize or be hospitalized Cuz literally on a scale from one to ten I'm 25.

TJS Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Is it not a good idea do try and deliver a well timed knee? Like others have said if they know what they are doing then they are not going to go in directly into a knee. A) they will shoot twords your front leg whitch is hard to create KO power with unless you switch stances..and you proabably not that quick. B) unless you do KO them you will get slamed.
Sens55 Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 I would say it would depend on the exact situation. As the others have mentioned, sprawling is good, but only if you were facing an opponent, saw it coming and anticipated the move. You indicated that your reasoning in asking was that it was a common street fight scenario. So it's worth pointing out that under such circumstances you may not have seen it coming. If you did not, but are quick, you might try a sacrifice roll. Since he's basically tackled you, you roll onto your back but try to capture and arm or elbow while positioning your feet inside of his legs. Using his momentum your roll onto your back and try to either kick him off or roll through onto his back, possibly captured a joint lock or controlling position. Again, it'll depend on what he gives you.

TJS Posted August 13, 2003 Posted August 13, 2003 If i was suprised by it and was too late to sprawl I would either try to pull gaurd and sink a Guillotine or use their momentum and twist and land on top of them.
