TKD Chosen One
Just wondering if anyone wanted to share any encounters they might have experienced.........muggings, or fights. How did it start and how did it end? I myself have had many encounters but never an actual fight.....i guess i look mean or something. But if there's one thing i cant stand is when people talk trash.....i get so annoyed, sometimes it takes a lot for me to control myself even if they're not talking to me. Anyways, i was just curious. Peace.
monkeygirl
Somewhere near the end of March, my older brother and I went to the mall to buy a birthday present for our mother. It was a weekday afternoon, so the mall was practically empty. Near the mall entrance, we notice a lone man, smoking a cigarette and leaning against the wall. I thought nothing of it until we walked by him...the man quickly put out his half-finished cigarette, and followed us into the mall, change jingling in his pockets. I looked back at the man and he stared right into my eyes. I clutched my purse tightly and walked a little closer to my brother. We walked a little quicker, and I could hear the man's change jingling faster as he tried to keep up with us. I turned around quickly to look at him again, and he was staring...again. Obviously, this all gave me a very BAD feeling. So, I clenched my fist and gave him a rather evil scowl. I turned back around, and walked forward...the man took the next opportunity to suddenly stop following us and take a different path. It's possible that I was just being paranoid, and the man wasn't following us, his intention had always been to take that left turn. Or maybe he was going the same direction as we were, and my scowl just scared him off However, I still think it's a good possiblity that he intended to mug us, all things considered. Either way, I didn't care to find out. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
G95champ
KickChink had a good story on here somewere about getting her purse taken and chasing they guy until she heard her child crying. Not sure where to go about looking for it o. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory." Tal
someone started on me once because i looked them in the eye. i wasn't staring at him, we just happened to glance at eachother at the same time. he was on his own, but was the sort of person who will make a fight out of anything. he walked over to me shouting abuse and he swung a punch at me. i grabbed the punch, imobilised him by manipulating pressure points on his wrist and elbow, hit him with a backfist in the face and then knocked him over with a kick. the combo i used was from a karate kata. once he was on the floor i just told him to f*** off. he got up and walked away. the second real fight i was in was a pretty big brawl in a nightclub. it was crazy. a lot of people like myself got caught in it. i managed to throw a few people to the ground and then get out of it. pressure points were again useful because nearly everyone was bigger than me. i got hit several times from several directions, but i only recieved bruising. the last fight i got into was a 2 on 2 situation. me and my friend were attacked, seemingly for no reason, by 2 drunk men. i used combos from kata and pressure points again and floored both of them. me and my friend than ran away. i got out without being hurt. my friend got a broken nose, and i think i knocked one of them out. shotokan karate nidanjujitsu shodankendo shodan
AUSSIE
Once when I was only about 14 I was walking home from school, through the park, and these 2 guys who were a bit older than me came up and started pushing me around and sayin they were gonna beat the crap outta me and and rah rah rah (I found out the following day it was a case of mistaken identity). They were about a year older than me and they had a friend standing there watching with his girlfriend who were about 3 years older than me, so I was doing everything I could to get away without fighting them. I just kept walking and saying "what the hell did I do? I dont even know who you are". But they persisted to shout and abuse me and tell me to "put em up." I tried to completely ignore them by turning around and continuing to walk home, but one of them jumped on my back and tackled me to the ground. We were both on the ground so I kicked him in the head as hard as I could and got up and ran. They didn't catch me, even though I had a backpack on me and they didn't. Then one of the idiots came up to me at school the next day and apologised to me because they realised they had mistaken me for someone else. I'm 18 now and I really hope I see these people again so I can hurt them.
AUSSIE
In highschool I got into some other serious confrontations because of this friend I had who seemed to attract violence wherever he went. I was always having to stick up for him and help him when gangs were after him. All sorts of stuff used to happen. About a year ago me and that friend got chased around the streets by a car full of thugs. They came right up to my friend so he smashed a bottle of vodka on one of their heads and then we fled...we both ran in different directions and got separated. I got away from them by running into a park. They couldn't drive their car into the park obviously, so they had to stop the car to get out and chase me by foot, but they couldn't catch me. It was a dark night and I eventually lost them by running through alleyways where they couldn't take their car, and hiding in peoples front lawns etc.
monkeygirl
Hey if it's not personal, why'd you quit? It's a long story but it basically boils down to some very messy dojo politics. My family had a disagreement with the owners and after a while I felt it would be best for me to leave. It was a very hard decision to make...I had to choose the lesser of two evils: 1. Turn my back on my family and keep training or 2. Give up something I love very much, but remain loyal to my family. It's been a painful process, but my family, dojo friends (who weren't involved in the politics at all, nor do I want them to be) and KF have helped me through it. To get back on topic... Wow, you guys lead some dangerous lives! 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
battousai16
an incident that happened last night, actually. i was at my cousins wedding, and i didn't really have much for clean clothes (i can be really lazy; i only do my laundry about once a month ), and i ended up wearing all black. by all black i mean black dress pants and a black short sleeve shirt with the frog buttons and such. which means my shirt was untucked and i guess, despite the fact i'd just shaved and gotten a hair cut, my parents stead i still looked sorta hoodlumish when i tried to justify myself to them. we got back home and i was bored and a little down so i decided to take a walk. and i didn't bother changing, because it was late in the day and i didn't see the sense in making ANOTHER outfit dirty. so i was walking, listening to some music, and looking at the ground, when i notice that i've crossed the path of some girl. we walked for a bit, and then i sorta glanced as she ran into her house. i didn't think anything of it, until i went on a ways, circled back, and started home, only this time on the other sided of the street. i was still looking at the ground, listening to music, and i see a shadow coming towards me and it's this big guy. i'm about to greet him when he pushes me over. he started yelling at me about stalking his daughter! evidently, she thought i was following her and stairing at her coccyx. so i stood up and told the guy to calm down, and he said if he ever saw me again he'd call the police, and i smarted off, which just made him even MORE mad, and he started yelling again, and i realised i'd better leave, but he threw a punch, an i blocked it and kind of nudged him back a bit and ran home. so let that be a lesson monkey girl, although he very well could have been looking for trouble, and you probably did the right thing, not all tall dark scary looking guys are evil. some of us just want to take a walk and listen to incubus in peace! and let that be a lesson to all you tall scary looking guys, if you see a girl around and you aren't gonna talk to her, go to the other side of the street and try to avoid dark colors. unless you're looking for a fight, in which by all means, do what i did. Bart the Lover
I've only been in one fight, and I provoked it. I stole one of my friend's shoes (don't ask) and wouldn't give it back. She rugby tackled me (quite impressive) and fisticuffs ensued. Eventually I threw the shoe at her, shouting 'Take your [insert profanity here] shoe, then!' and stomped off. I was twenty at the time. Happy days... battousai16 wrote:evidently, she thought i was following her and stairing at her coccyx. Coccyx? Is that a euphemism? Are there many coccyx fanciers in Wisconsin? What a peculiar bunch you must be. Cor! Check out the coccyx on that! Regards, Bart the Lover
