Black Dragon Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Although I agree there is no best style. I would like to see an expert from both styles agree to an exhibition match. It would be interesting to see whose kicking techiniques come out on top. And before you say it ( ........well MT uses knees, elbows, and punches.) yeah yeah, we learn that stuff too. Geez. So recognize or be hospitalized Cuz literally on a scale from one to ten I'm 25.
TJS Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Honestly I dont think it's much a Comparison..You say you learn knees and elbows and that may be true But 99% of TKD schools will not prepare you to deal with kness and elbows form the clinch... TKD is more of a distance stlye..most dont deal well with the clinch as hardly any train or spar with clinch fighting. TKD stlyist can very rarely deal with leg kicks and most dont even spar with punches to the head. Generally speaking MT fighters are exremly conditiones fighters and have to many weapons for your avg TKD guyt o deal with. Here is a Video Of a MT vs TKD ...I think it paints a pretty accurate picture of what would happen in most fights. http://www.bullshido.com/dl_goto.asp?id=5

Patrick Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 This really is not what the Comparative Styles forum is for. It is more for comparing specific aspects and different arts. Not saying who would beat who. So, I am going to close this. Thanks. Patrick O'Keefe - KarateForums.com AdministratorHave a suggestion or a bit of feedback relating to KarateForums.com?
