I have heard several versions of the KEMPO history, and the one thing that seems to stay is that it was a mix of the OKINAWIAN " te " mixed with techniques taught by chinese sailors and diplomats that founbd them selves in OKINAWA. The only time I myself have seen KENPO used is when the owner of the style changed it to make " more complete" and it was always an American who made the change.
