I went to judo once for some years, enjoyed it, but didn't find it necessary to keep on practicing it when I begun with jiu-jitsu. Besides I didn't have time for it with my gymnastics...

I used to do Judo, its pretty intense. If you want some full contact ruff stuff do judo. If you want a Religon / Light Stuff do Aikido. Aikido is pretty sweet, it looks really light but its very powerful. Its definately worth while.

Do unto others, as they done to you.

BJJ is better allround?!

Where do ya get off with a comment like that.

I think as styles they are very similar, I think Judo has better standing techniques, and BJJ has better ground. BUt then again Judoka have made a few BJJers cry when they specialise in Newaza ie Kimura.

But Bjj is not better!

Gotta love an art that realizes the ground is a weapon too. A good throw from a Judo person on concrete could easily cripple me if I fell wrong (even if I fell right). I wouldn't mess with them.

very true. being slammed to the floor when you cant fall could easyly injury an attacker badly. i wouldnt like to try it.

But have you thought that they both would be useless in zero gravity. I bet Kano and Helio never thought of that!

Silly men!
