Yep we have to hold our Horse stance with thighs parallel to the floor for a long time. Sometimes we have someone push down on our shoulders. Once you hold it for a while your quads start burning ALOT. And when you get up you can feel them moving in your leg.

What I find to be even worse than holding a horse stance, is holding a 1/2 pushup ... after the end of an intense class.

We go through the class then make two lines, one line in a half pushup, the other line does kata...we hold the pushup until the other is done with the kata! *shudder* its just nasty thinkin about it, especially when they forget the correct movements!

Patience is a grand- either you can learn it or I can make you learn it.

To answer your question about the working on the Stretching hard and doin all those drills we don't do those drills but we do stretch really hard about every week once a week bc you should do that for your legs can kick higher the next time and then smoother and faster :) . But when we do that we sometimes wake up the next morning and you don't want to get out of bed bc you are so sore but we get up and stretch out our legs or whatever is really hurting which you should do every morning. But that is what we all do at our school.

We have a partner jump on our backs, then we sprint across the dojo and back as fast as we can until the teacher says to stop :)

y'know, when we want to work on our stances, we go and pratice all of the change-overs and supports for loion dance... nothing beats having another guy stand on your horse stance and jump over your head to test them!

post count is directly related to how much free time you have, not how intelligent you are.
