I have never saw a kata that had no Kiai's.

 

I have saw a lot that had way too many lol. Like every move. LOL.

 

Yes their are certin points in kata where you are supposed to kiai but really if it feels good or natural to do it at other points then do it. Just shows me your putting out more effort and really thinking about what your doing.

I have just started Kobujitsu (Japanese weapons training) and have learned three different katas (tonfa, chuks and bokken/katana) which contain no kiais :-? .

 

I keep finding myself wanting to kiai :o I just cant help it!
