Does MA training give you a good workout.

Recommended Posts

i run 4 miles twice a day, everyday. I am training to be the best, ever. I do around 600 push ups a day 1000 situps, 50 head stand push ups, 200 neck bridges, and alot of other exercises. I do exercises for about 3-4 hours a day, then about 2 hours of stretching ( 4 half hour periods ) then I practice my moves, like kicking, punching, step ins for about an hour, do about a half hour of falling drips, like back falls off my table, side falls off my table. Deep breathing exercises to strengfthen my organs for 2 half hour periods. My dojo is only open 2 times a week so I have to train hard outside of it.

The amateur shoots his hands out ferociously, but lacks any true power. A master is not so flamboyant, but his touch is as heavy as a mountain.

of course, with all said it's really subjective. as with any work out, the martial arts is only as good as you make it. if you slack off in class and don't do any work out side of it it wont benefit you that much. so keep that in mind.

i don't use weights, only body weight. I am training to be a navy seal. If you can bench 600 lbs, then great! That just means you have that much more muscle to haul up a bank. If you do body weight calithenstics you will be ready to use your muscles and not just have looks. I don't look tough which is misleading, and has mislead many thugs.

my sisters friend can bench 300 lbs. one day, he woke up and he couldn't feel his left hand. it was really bugging him so he went to the doctor. the doctor was like "dude, your muscles are to big for your body. it's cutting off some nerves and that's why you can't feel your hand. you either need to stop lifting or live with the fact that you can't feel your hand". he decided to keep lifting cuz he didn't think his forearms were big enough
