Ryu Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 I have a tip or you, Use a Rip Cord before you go into your sparring match. I did this in my last tournement, I was a yellowbelt, and that was a year and a half ago, and I went home as tournement Grandmaster for my age group and rank group (My yellow is equivelent to your orange). tommarker Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 what is a Rip Cord? I'm no longer posting here. Adios.
Ryu Posted July 27, 2003 Posted July 27, 2003 Rip Cords come in three strengths and colors according to thier strength. Green is weak, Black is moderate, and red is strong. There are one velcro ankle bracelet type things at each end. One to latch to your ankle and the other to a base. You stretch it out so it doesn't touch the floor at all, then kick foreward using various kicks, such as front snap, side snap, side thrust, and ect. It makes it so you can kick faster with less effort. It also helps add to strength. You can buy these from Century. Ryan "Ryu" SomersBlue Belt - ITF Tae Kwon Do2 Years - Basic Hapkido
