Ha, well your english is better than my thai(?) !

Ok, so long as you wait until you have been kicked, before countering with a kick, you won't end up on your back. But why let yourself be kicked, when you could block, then counter?

I think the kick to the thigh is an extremely punishing and painful kick, and not one that I'd just "take", unless I had unbelievably tough legs.

So, you don't teach knee blocks at your school?

For sure... i block them..

with my knee, or the side of my calfs,

and immediately counter strike, with a upper body kick and punch...

After a leg kick, the guy protection are down and the body balance are involved, it's the time, to strike him.

Haha! i search my word... it's crazy...

Where is my dictionnary WHERE IS! :D

I prefer to either

1) if I can anticipate the kick, use a stop hit to their leg (usually with a side kick)

2) side step the kick or turn so it either misses or glances off the target.

3) if possible, combine (2) with a catch and take-down

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.

Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.

Blocking with the upper part of your shin is really the only good way to block a leg kick. Everything else is a nice idea, but that is the most reliable technique. And all of you who recommend taking it have never fought a good Muay Thai fighter or you wouldn't even consider that an option!
