username115 Posted October 4, 2001 Posted October 4, 2001 I MUST agree. There is no BEST martial art, much like there is no best type of music. There is only DIFFERENT, and as everyone knows DIFFERENT is good. Most ppl will think their martial art is the "real deal". All I can say is thank god there are so many different styles, it makes freestyle competitions & training with other clubs so much fun, learning new things and seeing how different people and styles act. So let's ALL keep up all those different styles, and make it as varied and NEW as we can!
taezee Posted October 4, 2001 Posted October 4, 2001 in regards to the martial artist making the style and not the martial art being the "BEST" when growing up bruce lee was made fun of becuase wing chun was considered a "womans art" and muhammed ali was picked on for being a skinny little black kid and to think alot of people dont even consider boxing a martial art...individuality is what its about..taking what you learn and adapting it to your personal style...one final comment...michael jordan was once told he would never make anything of himself with basketball Javier l Rosario instructor taekwondo/hapkidounder master Atef s Himaya"whenever youre lazy enough not to train .someone, somewhere is training very hard to kick your *"
TKD_McGee Posted October 4, 2001 Author Posted October 4, 2001 Michael Jordan also does not sign autographs because no one signed autographs for him when he was a kid! How selfish is that? Do unto others, as they done to you.

TKD_McGee Posted October 6, 2001 Author Posted October 6, 2001 I must have been reading the Michael Jordan Thread in the Everything Else Forum... I keep many windows open at a time... oops! Do unto others, as they done to you.
Jack Posted October 6, 2001 Posted October 6, 2001 If you want to train in an art, there is no definitive 'best' art. But if you want a well rounded art with a mixture of striking and grappling, go with Muay Thai, or crosstrain something like TKD with Jiu Jutsu. But there is no best art, its all down to the person. Go forth, and explore what you can do, grow to your own style of fighting! JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
Karateka_latino Posted October 9, 2001 Posted October 9, 2001 I may sound repetitive with this. But i think Crosstraining is the best way. That's what im working on now. A freestyle system. mixing punching, kicking and grappling (stand up and on the ground).
