sano Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 don't laugh but is it possible to perform that helicopter kick that ken and ryu do in street fighter you know that spin multiple crenscent kick. and hwoarang's hunting hawk kick it's a leaping side kick into spinning heel into a axe kick in the air before landing on the ground. Thats from tekken and they get their moves from actual martial artists. falcon kick!!!
battousai16 Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 being the huge dork that i am, i've actually spent some time trying to get hwoarangs hunting hawk kick. i can get the first two kicks, but not the third. i dunno about the helicopter kick, i don't play much street fighter. Kyle-san Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 Theoretically, those moves are possible. However, in reality, it's near impossible for most people to do any of those. Remember, just because the original basis for those games comes from actual martial arts, the characters have been designed to do the nigh-impossible.
sano Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 your not a dork i do video game and pro wrestling move on people all the time. and it always catches black belts off guard every time which i don't understand i thought black belts where suppose to be prepared for anything. the most stupid thing i every did and belive it or not it was on shonie carter last year was the booker t scissor kick from wwe and it actual work, but after i performed the move i tried to do the spineroni and he caught me in this weird submission hold. and i was not diggin that sucka belive dat. but the real truth i was toying around with him i thought since he didn't go very high in the ufc that he wasn't a great fighter like he always brag he was and believe me he always brags falcon kick!!!
battousai16 Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 nah, i'm still a dork. if not for the reason that i try to imitate cool moves from videogames and anime, than because of many many other reasons one of these days i'll get a life, but i'm in no rush. still, glad to hear your move imitating is working out for you, that's always cool. AUSSIE Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 The helicopter kicks from streetfighter are possible. Van Damme does them in them movie "kickboxer".
sano Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 but ken does three spinning crescent kicks in the air before he hits the ground. falcon kick!!!
monkeygirl Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 I'm not so sure about three spinning crescent kicks, but I do know of a martial artist David "Double D" Dougles. I SWEAR he does a 900 degree turn without even getting a running start first. Here's the kick he does: 540 (like a step-around back hook/wheel kick) add back leg roundhouse add back hook/wheel kick. I've watched him do this on videotape but I still have no idea how he manages to do it without wires. It's a 900 degree turn from start to finish, although he only does about 720 of it in the air. Still, that's pretty amazing...a 720 is a relatively difficult skateboarding technique...and they have speed and ramps and such to help them! This guy just does it from practically a standstill. 1st dan & Asst. Instructor TKD 2000-2003No matter the tune...if you can rock it, rock it hard.
sano Posted July 21, 2003 Author Posted July 21, 2003 how tall is he height can also play a role. now if he's six feet than amazing falcon kick!!!
battousai16 Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 720 a relatively difficult trick the middle of nowhere must breed god like skaters "I hear you can kill 200 men and play a mean six string at the same time..."-Six String Samurai
