aznkarateboi Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 which one do you think would fare the best in a NHB fight?
Karateka_latino Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 In a NHB match? i guess kyokushin karate. not sure, neither has done great in that kind of matches.
aznkarateboi Posted July 19, 2003 Author Posted July 19, 2003 how about the sabaki challenge? do they allow punches to the head?
WhiteBelt Posted July 19, 2003 Posted July 19, 2003 Kyokushin will most likely train a fighter for this type of match, compared to the other choices. That is, of course, only in my humble opinion.
cross Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 None of those would fare well. Why? becuase they are just names of styles. Not everyone in each of them styles are at the same skill level. Not everyone from those styles will have some natural athletic ability.
aznkarateboi Posted July 20, 2003 Author Posted July 20, 2003 not this argument again.... LETS just assume that they all have the exact same skill level and entered training at the same physical abilities and had training under equally skilled instructors. IN OTHER WORDS, what prepares you better for ring combat?
TJS Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 none of them have had much succes in NHB. however there have been a Few people who have a Kyokushin background and actually use it. Bas Rutten has a Background in Kyokushin and gives it alot of credit for his conditioning and his trademark bodyshots. Semmy Schilt also has a Kyokushin background.
Shotokan_Fighter Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 shotokan and kyokushin awould be the better of the 3. "When I fight, I fight with my heart, and soul. My heart, and soul is Shotokan Karate."Shotokan_fighters creed"karate has to come natural in a fight, if you have to think about using karate in a fight, you will loose the fight"3rd kyu brown belt - shotokan karate
cross Posted July 20, 2003 Posted July 20, 2003 Why not kenpo Shotokan_Fighter ? Do you have any experiance with it?
aznkarateboi Posted July 20, 2003 Author Posted July 20, 2003 Based on what I've heard, Kenpo usually doesn't allow full contact or kicks below the waste
