Do nothern Fighters fight differntly the southern etc. ? Do they have any perticular names to the styles etc.? Or is Muay Thai just Muay Thai.

I would say there arent really diffrent stlyes more diffrent rules depending on where you are located.

Like some rules allow throws/elbows etc so they are going to train with that.

In some contries they add sidekicks and such.

and obviously things will vary from school to school..some will foucs more on hands..come on knees..some on kicks etc.

But I would say overall it's going to be pretty similar.

Well which school or province town city or whatever produces the best fighters ? Is there a certain place that the best Thai Fighters come from ? Nak Muay (Thai Warrior) I think this is the highest ranking a Thai FIghter can get, where do most of these fighters come from ? Answering this might help me find various muay thai styles.

Not to sure but most people tend to think that the lighter fighters are better and the lightweight class has the most technical fights in it. This doesnt tell you anything about style but just thought i would mention it.

Actually, interestingly enough, Thailand doesn't produce the best female fighters due to the belief that women "taint the ring", so they would not teach their women until recently. Apparently NZ and Australia produce some of the best women.

Anyway, different clubs practice differently but there are no official sub-catagories as such.

There's a Scottish girl in my class and we were actually discussing the differences the other day because where she learnt it back home they taught her kicks differently to what our instructor prefers.

She does have nice strong kicks though, especially when she does it "right".

Muay thai from different parts of thailand will have different styles, but they are very similar. The only differences wil be the ring rules, maybe a slightly different stance and the emphasis on 1 type of attack more than another (like say they will do more kicking more than punching).
