American Kickboxing vs. Shotokan Karate

Which do you think would perform better in a NHB fight with no rules?

since they are both stand up it would depend on the fighter, but if the fighters were both of equal size and skill it would just come down to chance.

okay heres a question how long has the kickboxer been training for and what rank is the shotokan.

say the shotokan stylist is 2nd dan or whatever, and the kickboxer has just as much experience as the shotokan stylist.

Because the Kickboxer is wearing gloves I would say the Shotokan guy has a slight advantagae. LOL.

the shotokan would win because by second dan he will know some ground fighting and take downs

Difficult call - Kickboxing has better punches, Shotokan is more rounded though. I'd put my money on Shotokan.

I would give the edge to a the kickboxer because of full contact ring experience...he proabably knows how to take a hit(to the head) and is used to fighting.
