Gloi Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 Never been knocked out in martial arts. One time I got hit and went groggy and threw up, but never knocked out. However as a kid I was knocked out by a swing, falling off a slide and hitting my head on the floor, once coming off my bike and twice coming off while showjumping on the horse.
shotochem Posted July 21, 2003 Posted July 21, 2003 I've had a few concussions and have lost conciousness 3 or 4 times. (I think ) Funny it's never happened in MA training. I took a couple of nasty head shots over the course of training, the closest I've ever gotten was my knees starting to buckle but I recovered. I wonder if it knocked any sense into me............... Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

Actually I think most of the time that happens to me it has the opposite effect. A bit of what is there gets knocked out.
