Sens55 Posted August 28, 2003 Posted August 28, 2003 Sunchaser, I wouldn't worry too much about getting choked out. It's not a gender issue, it's part of the learning process. Most instructors will show you what it looks like early on, and then of course your fellow students will be glad to further your study. On the gender differences. Sure, there are some. But your instructor should be able to show you how to use your strengths to help neutralize your opponents advantages. In my opinion, if your opponent is stronger, you must really focus on your technique to win. But, you can, and you will if you keep working on it.
kenpo4life Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 I am just curious, what is a bjj choke hold? If my survival means your total destruction, then so be it.
Treebranch Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 I like to use the Hiemlich manuever. Did I spell that right? Oh well. "It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.""Lock em out or Knock em out"
Sho-ju Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I am just curious, what is a bjj choke hold? A choke is almost the same in every style of martial art. Some use the back of the hand like judo some use the palm...it's a matter of style. But a choke is a choke.
