ESA-Shotokan Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Heian Godan. I love the opening block/counter technique. The whole kata feels nice and strong and the kime is so great. Higher level, it has to be Jiin. Advanced kate despite the simplicity of the actual moves. This kata begs for good kime and exact timing.
ITSUKO Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 I agree with Solo. I saw Shisochin performed by three female BBs as a demonstration. I love it. Wish I will have a chance to learn it.
jaja87 Posted December 23, 2003 Posted December 23, 2003 i like way of the wolverine and saifa but i just got my blue belt and can now learn seienchin, tensho, and ichi no kama just jump
Karateka Posted December 24, 2003 Posted December 24, 2003 I like the feel of Sienchin mainly for its contrast of hard and soft and the beginning allows for a dramtic break point which feels powerful. Also, I like the Kata Matsumaraha (sp?) Rohai. This kata's hard and soft contrast allows for lots of power and then lots of grace, a good combination. SaiFightsMS Posted December 26, 2003 Posted December 26, 2003 A kata would be the equivilent of a tae kwon do hyung.
